GEO LIFE EXTENSION
Preliminary Design Review for our Life-Extension vehicle Endurance held in November 2023. This represents a significant step towards the first European demonstration of such a service in 2026.
Hispasat and Infinite Orbits Partner for European Satellite Life Extension Mission, 2024-03-13
- European satellite operator Hispasat is collaborating with Infinite Orbits on a life extension mission using Endurance, the Infinite Orbits Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellite life extension service solution.
- Infinite Orbits aims to present the technical solution developed in Toulouse, France, by the end of 2026, or the beginning of 2027.
Infinite Orbits Raises €12M to Build the First Solution For Satellite Life Extension, 2024-05-13.
- To expedite the development of Endurance, set to be Europe's first life extension satellite, with its inaugural mission planned for 2026.
- The funds will be used to further develop Infinite Orbits’ core RendezVous and Proximity Operations technology (RPO) and to perform in-lab and in-space validation before 1st launch.
SPACE SURVEILLANCE
OrbitGuard will be capable of detecting a target at a distance of several hundred kilometres. It will be able to perform pose estimation of an object, with robustness, against extreme lighting conditions, regardless of its background and with a centimetre-level accuracy at a 10m distance. Its capability of providing a high accuracy pose solution is estimated at a 95% or higher rate.
OrbitGuard - 1, slated for launch in September 2022, will demonstrate the following capabilities:
Rendez-Vous
Our patented Rendez Vous solution is revolutionizing in-orbit services through our autonomous vision-based technology. Integrating Rendezvous Far-Range (FR), Near-Range (NR), and docking capabilities, our solution ensures precise and secure navigation in space.
Furthermore, our embedded AI software and vision-based sensors empower our Servicers with real-time autonomous decision-making capabilities, crucial for ensuring safety in critical operations during autonomous navigation in space.
Status Comment / Notes
- OrbitGuard 1, our first generation Servicer, has been successfully launched in 2023 and is now the first commercial nanosatellite operating in Geostationary Orbit (GEO). OrbitGuard is an autonomous navigation system capable of both far and near range navigation for satellite Rendezvous. It can handle SSA and Inspection Missions. OrbitGuard performance is unknown as of late 2023.
