Diatomic Space is developing hardware to produce mission critical resources in space.
- Our first system will convert raw lunar regolith into breathable oxygen for use in life support systems and to produce water and propellant on the surface of the Moon.
- Future systems will produce water directly at the lunar poles for life support and propellant production.
- Resources produced on the Moon will be used on the lunar surface and will also be exported for use in lunar and Earth orbit.
In October 2022, Diatomic was announced as one of the NASA's Break The Ice Challenge Phase 2 participants. Eligible U.S. teams that meet submission requirements for Phase 2 competition level one will be awarded an equal share of the $500,000 prize purse.
