First launch: 1990

They were launched and finally deorbited with Progress-M cargo crafts. Before undocking from the space station, the crew repaced the docking probe with the VBK capsule. After the Progress-M deorbit burn, the capsule was ejected and reentered the atmosphere. It than parachuted to a landing area in Russia.

1.5 m long, 60 cm in diameter, and had an unloaded mass of about 350 kg. Could return about 150 kg. Used about 10 times.
