ASTREO capsule and internal SNC Dream Chaser Module for Landing Space Resources.
ASTREO Orbital Capsule
- In its simplest configuration, ASTREO Core, the capsule is purely a payload dispenser, being deorbited together with EOS without separating from it at the end of its operative life. This type of configuration will be among the firsts to fly, representing just a fairing for the payload.
- In the CL (CubeLauncher) config the Core has also a guided commercial parafoil, with the ability to perform a safe abortion at any stage of the flight, from any launch site.
- Other configurations are currently being evaluated, including a version aimed at reentry, ASTRO Return, currently under study and with planned tests in the first flights. Another version is in evaluation, ASTREO Deep Space, aimed at extending the orbital maneuvering capabilities by using an electric tug derived from the TEV.
Status Comment / Notes
Astreo capsule does not seem to be mentioned anymore on the website as of early 2023. Re-entry is still being planned.
