SpaceCase SC-01 – first accelerated project within Way4Space

The objective of the capsule is to prepare a commercial service called "SpaceCase" offering the possibility of testing various technologies in flight (materials, equipment, sensors, etc.) in a space environment of the atmospheric reentry type as well as a new generation of protections thermal.

The future of in-orbit services, assembly and manufacturing is looking bright! We are excited to announce a new collaborative study with Way4Space, formalized on 20 June 2023 at the Paris Air Show. As a follow-up to ESPI's 2020 Report on In-Orbit Services, we are working on identifying key enabling technologies and providing policy analysis. Outcomes of the joint report will be presented at the NextSpace Conference in Bordeaux on 4-5 October 2023.

Launched on 2024-07-09 on Ariane 6 first flight, but an issue with the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) of the upper stage prevented the deployment and reentry of the small capsule.
