As humanity takes its next committed steps into our solar system, we need a new way to manufacture food in space. At the same time, innovation in food systems for space applications will have a direct impact on sustainable food production on Earth. Some of the most promising food techs center on microbes, because microbial food systems utilize only a small fraction of the resources relative to plants.

We are excited to announce that Connectomix and the European Space Agency are collaborating on a study aimed at increasing humanities access to deep space. Connectomix is collaborating with ESA to calculate how much energy is needed for oxygen production facilities on the Moon.
