LEAP71 and Solideon Partner to Advance Space Hardware, 2024-03-18.
- “Solideon, a US-based provider of collaborative robotic metal 3D printing systems, and LEAP 71, a Dubai-based developer of computational and AI-based engineering technology, today signed a strategic agreement to collaborate on the design and production of multi-meter-scale hardware for space applications.
- The two companies will work together to build metal structures of significant scale with the eventual goal of enabling off-planet production.
Solideon wants to decentralize rocket manufacturing through 3D printing, 2024-10-28.
- “What we really do is build robots for deployable microfactories that help 3D-print and assemble large aerospace structures and products,” says Taiwo.
- “The reason that matters is you can decentralize manufacturing and actually get closer to building an entire product without any human intervention in the loop. Our long-term goal is to do that anywhere in the solar system at any point.”
- Manufacturing for space in space is still a ways off, naturally. In the meantime, the company is focused on solving more immediate-term problems, with an eye on defense contracts.
